new Tyrannosaur art

I've produced a bunch of Tyrannosaur pictures lately, and the ones which are turning out best are the ones which embrace a colour scheme, rather than just trying to replicate scenery. These two are case in point, the blue scheme and the orange turned out much better than the ... like green and muddy brown of some of the other pics.

I might go back and recolour some of the other pictures with this in mind, or perhaps add some highlights that incorporate a colour scheme  more effectively.

Hope you like 'em!

Tyrannosaur update - new focus on those jaws!

This was posted ealier, but some of the colouring and shading has been tweaked, hopefully for the better. Again, this is part of a tyrannosaur project that I'm more than half complete.
Here's a Japanese discovery, Kagasaurus, though, I think it may only be a "tooth species," meaning, it's definitely a megalosaurian tooth, but ... no other remains exist to further qualify what on earth this thing looked like!

Another modern discovery, Tlatolophus!

I drew this off a "How to draw dinosaurs" book, and it got the dimensions off - the head should be much bigger, I think.

I made a sculpture of this one, if anyone would like to see it, just let me know.

Dinosaur nativity scene. Why not?

Big smiling Tyrannosaurus : )

Another installment of the upcoming Tyrannosaurus project. It's taken a long time to get this artwork close to ready!

Here's Janenschia robusta, a titanosaurid from the Tanzanian Late Jurassic. Twas about about 80 feet long!

Corythosaurus sketch

Here's a strip of construction paper that I converted into dinosaurs, instead of just throwing out.

Labocania, maiasaura, and a T-rex update

Food goes here. Whether it likes it or not.

Labocania, a late cretaceous carnivore from Mexico.

Maiasaura, a late cretaceous hadrosaur from Montana.

Padillasaurus

 Padillasaurus leviaensis

maybe 50 feet long, from the Paja Formation in Colombia, described by José L. Carballido et al in the 1990s.

From my upcoming Tyrannosaurus project, aptly named "Tyrannosaurus."

Pachyrhinosaurus

Another fun picture and some more updates on the Tyrannosaurus project.

Good ol' pachyrhinosaurus discovered in 1946 by the legend Charles Sternberg. Supposedly, it was like 26 feet long, from the Campanian age of the Late Cretaceous and is proudly all-Canadian (except for the specimens that are from the US, lol). The holotype was unearthed from the St. Mary River Formation. Now you know!

Tyrannosaurus stuff

I've been working on a Tyrannosaurus project for a while now, and some of the artwork is finally starting to take shape! The drafting, sketching, inking, scanning, and finally some colouring, has taken ages - here's a taste of how it's coming together! There's a LOT of good stuff in this project : )
